FantasyBaseball.com - About Us
Fantasy Planet CEO Craig Davis announced Fantasy Planet L.P., which owns and operates FantasyBaseball.com, has acquired Mastersball.com. The pairing of these companies, which will move forward under the FantasyBaseball.com umbrella, brings together some of the best and brightest minds in fantasy baseball.
"We believe the opportunity to add some of the best minds in our industry (Jason Grey, Todd Zola Perry Van Hook and Rob Leibowitz) to our growing family is unprecedented," said Davis. "There's no doubt FantasyBaseball.com has taken the next step in becoming the clear-cut leader in fantasy baseball information by adding some serious talent to our staff."
Jason Grey founded Mastersball.com in 1997 and has been a columnist and beat writer for MLB.com for the past two years, and a featured fantasy baseball columnist for Sports Illustrated for the past six. Mastersball work has been utilized by the scouting and operations departments of numerous major league teams. Jason has been the fantasy expert for numerous radio programs nationwide including ESPN Radio and XM Radio, and is also a contributor to numerous magazines. A two-time Tout Wars Experts League champion, Jason is also a defending LABR Experts League champion. He is also a statistician for Major League Baseball Advanced Media, serving the Arizona Diamondbacks, the Arizona Fall League, and Spring Training.
"We're extraordinarily excited about the opportunity to work with the Fantasy Planet team to expand our unique offerings and look forward to leveraging our respective strengths to create a new and better experience for the fantasy baseball consumer," said Grey.
Also joining the management group at FantasyBaseball.com is Todd Zola. A member of the Mastersball team since its inception in 1997, Todd specializes in the science of player valuation, strategy, and game theory and his work has gained acclaim in the fantasy and sabermetric communities. He wrote the fantasy baseball mailbag for SportsIllustrated.com during the 2002-2004 seasons, has contributed to numerous magazines, and is a frequent guest on XM Radio.
"We're always looking to bring our content to a wider audience, and working with the Fantasy Planet team will enable us to do that, as well as better service our current customers," said Zola.
Last but certainly not least, Rob Leibowitz will also join the FantasyBaseball.com team. Rob founded Rotoheaven.com in 1997 and merged it with Mastersball.com in 2002. His work has appeared in a variety of places and he was the former lead writer for Fantasy Insights baseball coverage. He has been a contributor to the last three Fantasy Baseball Guide Magazines, as well as other fantasy magazines, and has appeared on multiple radio programs. Rob has participated in multiple experts leagues with money finishes.
"I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of this organization. This isn't just a great opportunity for Mastersball.com, but for customers old and new that will directly benefit from this new combination of skill and site quality that we will be able to provide together," said Leibowitz.
FantasyBaseball.com and Mastersball.com will, again, combine forces immediately and bring two sites into one conglomerate, offering the consumer the freshest, most innovative fantasy baseball information on the net. Over the next several months, FantasyBaseball.com will begin total integration of both companies into a single entity that will further enhance the user experience.
